Back Pack Or Suit Case?

By Poppy Hill

After you have booked your holiday and are starting to get excited closer to the date for travelling. The next decision will be on what to pack all your belongings in for your trip overseas. Do you purchase a back pack or suitcase?

Passengers who travel using back packs tend to like them as this type of luggage allows them to use their hands while their luggage is on their backs. No need to watch over the luggage piece on the floor in airport or railway lounges. Also means you can use your free hands to take photos when out and about or if you wish to call someone you can do so without the need to be looking out for your suitcase. One of the big disadvantages would the sheer weight of the pack on your back. One of the main difficulties of carrying around this type of luggage would be that you can not see what is behind you or who and if you hit them with your back pack as you try to go through the gates of London underground for example. Anyone travelling on a bus from the airport into town may have trouble trying to find a seat for them and their luggage.

Another option would be to use a suitcase. The cases come in all different shapes and sizes and styles the end choice being yours. Short trips away either on business or personal may allow you to carry on board a small light weight case which fits snugly into the space above your head on the plane. Nearly everyone is taking their cases on board so space maybe limited. Longer holidays may require a larger case which does not go with you onto the alone but into the hold instead. The great advantage is that you just roll the case along in its wheels and don't need to carry the case on your back. Airports and public transport networks nearly all have steps which means you may struggle to carry the cases up the steps especially during rush hour.

Passengers have their own theory about back packs and suitcases and which one is the best for travelling. Packs tend to be used by students as opposed to suitcases. Where as families and business tend to use cases and feel they are treated a bit better upon arrival at airports and hotels.

Meanwhile what type of luggage do you use during the day. A small handbag or mini back pack? Advantage to using a compact back pack is that all your belongings are in one place and can be carried easily around the day with you. Whereas hand bags are a bit uncomfortable when carrying souvenirs and bottled water as the straps may tend to slip off and are uncomfortable aster a while.

Each traveller has their own needs to think about when travelling and what suits their needs for their holiday trip.
