Royal Caribbean's Splendor Of The Seas

By Alaina Ashley

Belonging to Royal Caribbeans Vision Class line of ships, Splendor of the Seas is one of the finest. Being nearly nine hundred feet in length it is a floating vessel of magnificence in regard to its splendid accommodations. Built with more windows than ever before, most of the exterior staterooms afford a breathtaking view of the entire voyage.

Easily referred to as a floating city, this ship offers more accommodations than one could hope to take advantage of for the duration of their cruise. For those who enjoy being pampered there are whirlpools. Hot rock massages and facials are always available at the ShipShape Spa. For the more adventurous souls there is rock climbing or a vigorous game of basketball and indoor and outdoor pools.

This magnificent ship is also home to the University of Miami Ocean Lab. Admittedly the person drawn to this attraction would have an interest in science but students make up some of curiosity seekers. Nothing less than a state of the art oceanographic and atmospheric science lab, the average person would be entranced at what can be found there.

The main dining room, delightfully named The King and I, offers the palette a culinary feast of many offerings. Chicken, beef, veal, seafood, and pasta all abound and are exquisitely served. If the appetite calls for something a bit less indulgent, the Windjammer has a full buffet unparalleled in its offerings. The younger set may wish to try the pizza and sandwiches offered at the Cafe Promenade. Food and room service is offered twenty four hours a day.

For the lover of chance the high seas offer a casino that will offer all the greatest in games of chance. Poker, slots, baccarat, and roulette are just a sampling of the games offered. If the delights of Broadway beckon the talented cast members will render a show that one will not soon forget. Laughs will abound at the antics of a comedian, and the illusions of a magician will enthrall onlookers.

Just because you are at sea does not mean that your accommodations shouldn't offer the comforts of home. There are interior and ocean view staterooms and some have balcony's. Top of the line luxury suites with full size balcony's are the equivalent of a small penthouse. Amenities include television, telephone, showers, private baths, and vanities and this is only the top of the list.

If taking a cruise has been a lifelong dream, indulge yourself. Place your reservation and begin the experience of a lifetime. Bon Voyage!!
