Pollution: The World's Worst Areas

By Darrel Jefferson

Diesel fuel vehicles are the big bad guy of the automobile scene. They're big and loud and dirty. Just like every other villain. They fly around the streets, blinding everyone with their headlights and explosive poofs of jet black exhaust, and thunder around like the end of the world.

This is the stereotype. Perhaps once true, or based off of fact, these vehicles don't actually deserve the rap they get. But as modern fairy-tale lore is starting to prove, a lot of these bad guys are simply misunderstood. Poor villains. Poor diesel vehicles.

Not only does it bring fuel economy down but it also increases the price of the vehicle. In a new truck for example, it can cost around $10,000 to get the system. In countries like China and India, trying to stay competitive with cars can be difficult and keeping these kinds of technologies out of your car can greatly decrease the price for your product.

On average, is about 33% more efficient than it's contender and that makes a big difference. The higher efficiency is partly because of the increased torque that comes with a diesel engine. This extra amount of torque equals better acceleration and better fuel economy.

The money

This higher fuel economy and torque can come at a price. Often times, diesel prices can cost more than regular gas prices. Not only is the price per gallon a little higher but the actual car or truck can cost a little more as well.

Myth 1

Diesels are dirty. This is false. Once, many of them were. But recently, they've cleaned up completely and no longer spew out those awful bursts of black smoke. Regulations have helped diesels clean up their act and they are now just as clean (if not more) than gasoline powered vehicles. Diesel emissions have improved incredibly over the years.

Because of some of the processes that were used to produce these chemicals and pesticides, lots of harmful chemicals were released into the atmosphere. Azerbaijan has been paying for these mistakes. Now, Cancer rates are among the highest in the world in the city.

If you want to go green, more times than not, gasoline will be your better option. Diesel fuel is a much dirtier fuel than gasoline. Consequently, they burn a lot dirtier and release more emissions. If you have ever seen a diesel truck accelerating quickly, then you have probably seen all the black smoke that comes from the truck. You probably were able to visually see why diesel fuel is dirtier than gasoline.

Longevity

When you get a new car, whether new to you or brand new from the car lot, you are probably going to want a car that will last you. Trying to avoid major repairs for as long as you can are things that every car consumer wants. On average, diesel vehicles last longer than gasoline vehicles. Diesel Engines are built strong and more rugged because of how the engine runs on compression. This leads to vehicles lasting longer and your engine running better longer.
